Spliced

The Ennis CBS Squash courts were transformed over the weekend of July 7 and 8 to accommodate the running of the play, 'Spliced' in conjunction with the Ennis Arts Festival. The hugely entertaining show is a dramatization of the G.A.A. experience by Timmy Creed, who played at club level with Bishopstown in Cork City during his underage days and for a few years in adult grades.

After the Saturday evening performance, the discussion panel engaged with the audience to address the issues raised in the play. The discussion was chaired by Diarmuid Lyng from Wexford, with Jamsie O’Connor and Podge Collins as panel guests. A lively debate took place with some marvellous contributions from the mixed audience of G.A.A. ‘head’s, squash players and the general public, all with different views.

The arts invasion into our space was a great success and the club members who attended the show really enjoyed themselves. An Glór, the artists and all who attended were very grateful to Mike Lydon and Joe Whelan for their carrying out of the extra work that the event entailed.
